Never, ever underestimate the power of love. The #1 most important, most security producing, most influential thing you can do (have I used enough mosts to get your attention yet?) is to purposefully agape-love your own husband.
To those of us who are happily married Frontline Moms, I urge you to find as many ways as possible to show him that you love him.
Forgive his forgetfulness. Give him a hug. Bake him a cake. Look into his eyes. Throw your arms around him and plant a big kiss…right in front of the kids.
They’ll give you a moan and a sigh, and deep down they’ll cheer for joy. Mom loves Dad! Yeah! Mom loves Dad!”
For some of us, the marriage between Mom and Dad is no more. You’re no longer the love birds you once were, and it seems like it’s too late for this advice.
Still, love the Daddy. Encourage him. Bless him. Speak only kind words about him even if he doesn’t deserve it. Why? Because your kids are listening, and they will imitate your approach.
Maybe you can’t go back and restore, but you can go forward and help your children to thrive.
So next week, as the world celebrates Valentine’s Day, love the Daddy.
Maybe you have a creative idea for showing love for your kids’ Daddy. Please leave a comment about it. I’d love to hear from you.
